Dive Bar Finder is an independent iPhone app for people who would rather find somewhere local, loud, strange and memorable than land in another polished chain bar.
It is developed by Fear Army LTD for travellers, touring bands, music fans, locals and anyone looking for the places conventional nightlife searches often overlook.
Why it exists
A map is useful.
A point of view is better.
Broad “bars near me” searches are good at showing what is close and popular. They are less useful when the question is about character: a real neighbourhood dive, a punk back room, a metal bar, a goth night or an alternative venue with its own identity.
Dive Bar Finder narrows that search. Users can explore nearby bars in a list or map, filter by scene, compare practical venue details, save favourites, open directions and build a collection through check-ins and achievements.

Context matters
“Dive”, “punk” and “alternative” mean different things in different cities. The app helps narrow the field; local context and the user’s judgement finish the decision.
Current beats famous
A well-known list can age quickly. Opening status, recent venue information and today’s programme matter more than an old reputation.
Character, not neglect
A good dive is not defined by unsafe conditions or poor service. We mean independent identity, atmosphere and a sense that the room belongs to its regulars.

Our field guides start with a specific problem someone is trying to solve—finding a real dive nearby, locating a local music scene, avoiding tourist traps or choosing a bar while travelling. Each guide explains a practical search process and shows where the app fits into it.
Guidance is reviewed against the app’s current functionality and written to avoid guarantees the product cannot make. We do not invent search-volume figures, claim every classified venue is a perfect match or treat an event night as a permanent identity.
